A superb leaf showing the venation well, in a block of shale. The Glossopteris fauna of Gondwanaland is the high latitude equivalent of the Coal Measures flora. Its distribution in Africa, Madagascar, India and Australia, indicating the presence of a former land bridge, is an important paleontological argument for the theory of Continental Drift.
