One of the major Kingdoms of living organisms on Earth. This group contains a wide range and huge numbers of extinct and living animals, ranging from ammonites to trilobites and insects. Invertebrate fossils date back into the Pre-Cambrian but it was the Cambrian explosion of life that saw the range and complexity of forms found today and as fossils.
